As we all know the internet has advanced in over the past decade, has it's time come for a slowdown or is it still in the developing phases. Although the internet has been around since the invention required for US Military purposes and gone public there are still advances in technologies using the internet.

The backbone of the internet may have changed progressively but what is really changing are the types of programs we are using online and with technology.

The "Microsoft Era" gave us developments in programs, Internet Explorer, ISM, Hotmail.
Then came the "Search Era" with Yahoo, Google and Microsoft. We all wanted to search online for information, more information, new information, non-biased information and direct information.

The third era is the "Networking Era", now we are all going online and joining social groups, networking with friends of friends, finding new friends with common interests outside our local area. Will this improve our social structure and our economy? What is happening is more people our going online, more people are using technology, more people are using mobile technology. But where does all this lead?

Although it seems everyone is going online, maybe not everyone is staying online. Now that a group of people has learned to use programs, search for information and find like-minded groups what will they do next? I guess that is up to each group and what there common goal is? Sound familiar? Many businesses have a common goal. Maybe many people will start to form business cultures/barriers. It's been talked about for awhile but with advancing technologies it is becoming more and more possible. Find your resources, register for government programs, find experts and sell online. It is all starting to develop. All the best in 2009!
