"How do I start a daycare center?" That's the first thing you'll ask if you want to have your own daycare center. Thinking that it will be difficult for you to run one? Well, try these tips in running your own daycare.

1. Choose a location for your daycare center. Unoccupied bedrooms and spare studio type rooms are great locations.

2. Decorate the place. Paint it with bright colors and designs, perhaps a wall painting of a rainbow or alphabets, shapes and numbers.

3. Will you teach the children, or simply provide care? Provide a curriculum. Most daycare centers teach basic skills such as ABC's, numbers, colors and shapes.

4. Have knowledge of state requirements for daycare centers. License to operate is a requirement by some states for daycare centers. Local legislation may regulate the number and ages of children. Unlicensed daycare centers may have five children in care.

5. Purchase play-pens, tables, chairs, sleeping mats and educational tools. Also include toys in your daycare supplies so that you can keep children busy playing with them.

6. Come up with a contract between you and the parents. The contract should include important information such as price, the drop off and pick up time and the things you are going to provide. Request parents to provide contact information, child's health situation and the list of allergies.

7. Have each child in your daycare an evaluation. Create a record how the child was, what the child did or learnt and the behavior.

8. Promote your business through internet posts and signposts.

"How do I start a daycare center?" will not be your question anymore. Follow these tips and have a profitable and progressive daycare center.
