If you are a professional who works in the supply chain management field, or one who consults or instructs in the supply chain management field, you will more than likely greatly benefit from obtaining supply chain certification.

Supply chain certification was specifically developed to address the gaps in the education of professionals who work in the supply chain management field. This certification will allow you to be more knowledgeable about the field, and be able to more readily handle the demands and challenges that can occur.

Supply chain certification can be addressed in one of several ways. There are typically three different routes to gain certification. These are: instructor led, self paced or corporate group.

Many people choose the self paced route in order to gain supply chain certification. Self paced usually means that the individual will engage in distance learning through an on line connection. If you are disciplined and you can manage your time efficiently, this is most likely a very good option for you. It will allow you to study at your own pace, working around your current schedule. This is a very good option for people who work a full time job already.

Instructor led courses are led by an individual that has the credentials to teach the courses related to supply chain certification. For these type of courses, you would need to attend classes to obtain the teachings from the instructor. Classes would be pre-scheduled for certain days and times, and you would have to ensure that the dates and times would work with your schedule.

The last type of learning option is the corporate group. To be a part of a corporate group training for supply chain certification, you would need to be asked by the corporation you work for to attend the classes of trainings. This is not something you can initiate on your own. This is something that the particular corporation would need to initiate in order to assist in the certification of its employees.
